Yesterday, we spoke with Cat’s dad who unbenounced to us had a layover in Newark on the way to Miami.  We decided to make the three hour drive (beginning at 4:30 in the morning) and meet him and his wife there to catch up.  It’s a long drive but it’s better than the nine hour drive to Maine!  We had a great time and Cat was really excited to see dad so spontaneously.

Also last minute, we called a good friend of mine who lives in New York City and were able to head over his way to see his apartment and go out to lunch.  He lives in a really nice neighborhood in New York City; it was refreshing to see such a great urban area.
