Cat and I helped setup the celebration along with Nana and Papa among others! This was a huge celebration of over a hundred people.
I said to Papa that this was more than what Cat and I had at our actual wedding. He replied that he had less at his wedding as well.
This was not only a great time to celebrate a huge milestone in Cat’s grandparents lives but also a time for me to meet more of Cat’s family. Uncle Mike lives in Missouri, so this was the first time I met him along with other family members and family friends.
Being the picture person, I made sure that there was a sanctioned picture taking time. This was a thrill for Nana too! She got a picture of all of her grandchildren together, a first for her. Needless to say, people wanted to get a picture of the groom and blushing bride as well:

On a personal note, I was thrilled to be so readily accepted into Cat’s family. Along with the direct descendants of Nana and Papa, I sat at the head table and was otherwise included in the pomp and circumstance.
The event, however, couldn’t have gone off if it wasn’t for Dad and Ellen who ran the kitchen with the help of some of Ellen’s best students. Dad was also the master of ceremonies offering the toast and otherwise moving things along smoothly.
If you haven’t gotten a chance to see Jose Urdaneta’s wedding pictures. Here is the link to the pictures:
Cat and I spent the afternoon with Martine at the House of Clarendon tasting wedding cake options. It was a lot of fun and tasty too! I’m really thankful that Cat has let me be a part of organizing our wedding. Take a look at our set of pictures from it. We tried everything from vanilla to chocolate and all kinds of things in between including peach, pink champagne, and lemon.
Four months ago Cat and I got married. Boy, was that the best decision of my life. I am married to most funny, intelligent, talented, kind and loving person I have ever met.
I just spent a little time reminiscing looking through old emails and four months and one day ago we spent a little time poking around Wikipedia’s entry for September 16th.
Also I saw an email conversation we had since one of the coolest things about eloping is that we got married the way that Grams and Grampa did. In fact, our framed picture of Cat and I’s wedding day and Grams and Grampa’s on the other half of the frame is one of our most treasured possessions.
Cat and I often ask each other if that we would be doing the things we are doing now a year ago. I had known Cat for four days and now, we’re settling on a house at the end of the month, seven weeks away from our wedding ceremony, and today marks four months of marital bliss. Amazing… We would have never guessed that we could be so happy in a year’s time.
We spent most of Sunday with my Dad for some Christmas festivities. It was great to spend some time with him, Kathy, John, and Karen. Craig, Lindsay, and their girls were there too!
I ate two plates of meatballs and macaroni and cheese along with a couple of rice crispy treats
. There was some trouble though: little Gwen kept trying to pick a fight with me and called me stinky. I wasn’t stinky I swear!
Cat was unfortunately chair bound for most of the evening and Maddy poked a little fun at her when she did finally get up to go to the bathroom. With that said, Cat really enjoyed her meal at the time with my Dad’s family.
We are very thankful for their generosity this Christmas with many gifts coming off our Target wedding registry and other very helpful gifts for the wedding itself.
With Cat under the weather, I moved the hanging out with my groomsmen to hanging in with them. Cat and I baked a cake from scratch… she was the director of stirring since she could do that sitting down!
I also put together alfredo, a salad, popcorn, nuts, and biscuits.

We did a gift exchange between us. Rob got me a “another bites the dust” t-shirt since I’m no longer single. We had a really good time and Cat was able to sit at the dinner table with us and get to know my groomsmen a little better.
After dinner I sent them off to get fitted for their tux’s and called it a night.
Check out the Sunday paper on the 21st for Cat and I’s engagement announcement. We trust that the Lancaster Newspaper will cut us a check for the additional papers sold that day *cough cough*
